Children’s Book Author Michelle Lander Feinberg Receives National Recognition with NYC Big Book Award® for Cooper the Dog Series
The mission of Cooper the dog is to entertain children and inspire conversations about pet adoption, friendship, diversity and kindness.
Young readers meet an unruly rescue dog named Cooper, who, by training with love and respect, becomes so well trained that he thinks he is human. Children laugh through Please don’t tell Cooper he’s a dog and learn that dogs are more than just pets, they are important members of the family.
Cooper comes back in Please don’t tell Cooper Jack is a bunny, and makes a daring escape from his court. When he comes home with his new friend, Jack Rabbit, the fun has only just begun. This book is sure to amuse young animal-loving children and inspire conversations about diversity and the meaning of true friendship.
2021 was a banner year for the awarded books due to the high level of quality and the diversity of the books submitted. Again in 2021, the NYC Big Book Award® received book submissions from around the world, including superb submissions from journalists, established authors, the press large and small as well as independent authors for the first time that participated in large numbers.
Award-winning books included American Bar Association, Friesen Press, Gatekeeper Press, Greenleaf Book Group, Joggling Board Press, Story Merchant Books, and WildBlue Press. Quality children’s editors such as Barefoot books as good as Mango and marigold press were awarded. Independent presses such as Books Brill, Goff, Koehler Books, Llewellyn Publications, ORO Editions, Routledge Publishers, Rowman & Littlefield, and She writes in the press took home both the winner and the distinguished favorite. AuthorHouse, IngramSpark, KindleDirect, SDP Publishing were among the self-publishing platforms. Recently, Hachette Books, MacMillan, Penguin Random House were among the major publishers who entered.
