The Freedom Library welcomes the author of children’s books
Author Melissa Sitts’ book “Lily Learns an Important Lesson” relates to today’s youth
YUMA, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – The Freedom Library is the rough diamond of the Southwestern Desert. The library is more than books, it is part of the community. Howard Blitz, the founder and director of the Freedom Library, made it his vocation to educate everyone.
The library is open to the public and if you’ve ever wondered about the founding of the country or how the economy works, I suggest you head to Arizona Avenue.
It is therefore normal that this weekend the library is organizing an event to give children the opportunity to have fun, but also to learn. The library will host children’s book author Melissa Sitts.
Sitts has been writing children’s books for years and on Saturday October 30, 2021 she will be reading “Lily Learns an Important Lesson”. The story centers on Lily, a young girl who receives a companion dog as a gift and later receives a tablet, you can guess where her attention has gone.
Sitts says her book is about today’s kids, who lose sight of what’s important instead of using electronic devices. Reading begins at noon and will include a costume contest and candy.
The Freedom Library is located at 2035 S. Arizona Avenue.
